Skye – Hand-Tufted Wool Rug, Parchment

A small night sky, hand-tufted into a deep parchment pile. The moons, suns and stray dots are scattered rather than set out in rows, which gives the rug the unforced look of a drawing. Wool underfoot is warm and forgiving, so it suits a nursery floor and a reading chair equally well.

• Hand-tufted in 80% New Zealand wool over a 20% cotton backing
• 80 cm wide by 120 cm long, with a pile roughly 2 cm deep
• Approximately 4 kg in weight
• Moon, sun and dot motifs scattered across the surface in ochre, rust and muted green
• Made in India
• Care: vacuum only — vacuum often to begin with, as a new wool pile naturally sheds
• Turn the rug from time to time so wear and sunlight fall evenly across it
• Blot wet spills with kitchen paper and wipe with a damp cloth instead of rubbing; send stubborn marks to a professional cleaner
• Keep away from open fire

Turn it end to end now and again so sunlight and footfall wear it evenly, and blot spills rather than rubbing at them. Keep it away from open fire.
