Kaveeta – reclaimed wood serving board, natural

Every Kaveeta board started out as a chowki, the low table used for sitting and eating across India, and was salvaged rather than made new. The timber keeps its worn edges and its original patina, and carved feet at either end lift it clear of the counter. No two are alike.

• Reclaimed solid wood, salvaged from an Indian chowki low table
• 6cm high x 36cm wide x 15cm deep
• 1.8kg
• Natural colour, keeping the reclaimed timber's original patina, worn edges and surface texture
• Carved feet at each end lift the board clear of the surface
• Food safe
• Hand-finished in India
• Care: warm soapy water to wash, then rinse and dry straight away
• Rub an edible oil such as olive or walnut oil into the surface with a dry cloth to nourish the wood

Food safe and 36cm across, so it works as a board as much as a stand. Wash it warm, dry it straight away, and rub in a little olive or walnut oil now and then.
